The Aberdeen facility, a part of BASF Corporation's Chemicals Division since June of 2000, is located on 320 acres in Northeast Mississippi midway between Columbus and Tupelo on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The site, which achieved ISO 9002 certification in December of 1994, manufactures acrylic-based superabsorbent polymers used primarily in the production of baby diapers, feminine care products and adult undergarments. Approximately 140 management-represented employees are currently working at the site which is within three hours driving time of Jackson (the Mississippi state capital), Memphis, TN; and Birmingham, AL.
