Finance
In
today's economy, the drive for profits and shareholder value requires
companies to operate globally. This is nothing new for BASF. With
over 90,000 employees worldwide and production in 39 countries, BASF
has been a global player for years. Effective global operations are
achieved through our solid technology infrastructure and rapid move
to e-commerce. This is further enhanced through Verbund, BASF's highly
developed approach to integration, which is one of the company's greatest
strengths.
The
Finance function plays a key role at BASF through partnering with
business management. Its role is to ensure that strategic and operational
decisions foster the long-term financial growth of strategic business
units. Its influence extends well beyond the reporting of monthly
financial statements. It is also involved in analyses concerning acquisitions,
capital projects, pricing, and product sourcing.
BASF
Aktiengesellschaft's American Depository Receipt's (ADR's) were listed
on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), further heightening the company's
strong focus on its financial performance. This will further enhance
the role of the Finance function in the BASF organization as an integral
member of the company's business team. |
