Human
Resources
At BASF, Human Resources is a strategic member of
the company's management team, helping to effectively
manage organizational talent. This is accomplished
through partnering with line management regarding
issues such as human talent effectiveness, establishing
BASF as an employer of choice, and developing programs
that support employee career aspirations. Our competency
based HR strategy is at the core of providing solutions
in today's competitive business environment. At the
same time, our HR professionals are embracing new
and innovative web-based solutions to design workflow
processes that are becoming the industry standard.
HR implemented a new Human Resource Management System (HRMS)
platform that provides managers and employees with full self-service
regarding personnel information, compensation, benefits, and other
administrative tasks. This enhancement will allow Human Resources
to sharpen its focus on strategic issues and partnering with line
management where we can greatly add value to BASF.
Our Professional Development Program (PDP) is another
example of how HR is providing a strategic solution
to meet a current business challenge. This competitive
program recruits new graduates at the Bachelor and
Master level and enables them to develop their skills
through several rotational assignments within BASF.
Assignments are based on business needs and are located
at Corporate Headquarters as well as at sites throughout
the United States. These assignments provide excellent
opportunities for PDPs to immediately become valuable
contributors to the organization. This 18-month program
provides a competitive advantage for BASF in recruiting
and retaining the best new college graduates.
Human Resources continues to look for ways to aggressively
implement strategies that will increase the competitive
advantage of BASF.
