| | BASF Automotive Campus
The
Automotive OEM Coatings group is based at the BASF Automotive Campus in Southfield,
Michigan, near the Motor City of Detroit. This four-building complex is the North
American hub of our activities in research, application technology development,
new product innovations and color development. The Automotive Campus is also our
center for administrative, marketing, customer service and technical support activities.
|
The Coatings Research Center and the Applications Research Center are the
most prominent buildings of the campus. The Coatings Research Center has more
than 99,000 sq. ft. of laboratories, 20,000 sq. ft. of offices and a 3,250-sq.-ft.
atrium for meetings and demonstrations. The 55,000-sq.-ft. Applications Research
Center features two automotive coating processing lines that mirror the same systems
used by BASF's customers. Researchers can evaluate optimal coatings application
systems and the appearance of fully finished automotive exterior components. |
