When it comes to being successful in business, two is better
than one.
In today’s fast-paced, global business environment, it is
critical for companies to find an advantage that can lift them above
the competition. Companies looking to establish or grow their businesses
can achieve that competitive advantage through a concept known as
co-location.
Locating your manufacturing operations on available and
developable land on an existing industrial site with state-of-the-art
infrastructure presents extraordinary opportunities to operate more
efficiently and gain an edge on your competition. It can
mean shared infrastructure, shared utilities and shared services,
instead of going it alone. It can mean saving time and money expended
on the search for the right site. It can mean a lower initial capital
investment, lower overhead, and lower operating costs–all
of which can add up to higher returns. That’s the power of
partnership.
Co-location can add up for you
BASF’s proven capabilities provide considerable economic advantages
for any company, and you’ll have the added confidence of locating
near a partner committed to helping you succeed. BASF will provide
manufacturers with access to the company’s many years of experience
and know-how. Simply put, the many synergies of co-location with
BASF can add up for you. |

Location, location, location
Each of the BASF sites available for co-location in North America
offers access to major markets, with rail, highway and water transportation
modes. Altamira is 15 miles from Tampico, Mexico. Freeport is approximately
50 miles south of Houston, Texas, the fourth largest city in the United
States. It also has access to the Gulf of Mexico through Port Freeport.
Geismar’s location on the banks of the Mississippi River is
25 miles south of Baton Rouge, La., and 60 miles north of New Orleans.
Hannibal, also located on the Mississippi River, is just over 125
miles northwest of St. Louis, Mo. Wyandotte, Mich. is strategically
located in the heart of the U.S. automotive industry in Detroit, and
is within three miles of four major U.S. interstate highways.

Energy and raw materials…they’re
already here
For companies in need of modern and well-maintained infrastructure,
that’s what you’ll find at each of the available BASF
sites. Utilities, including steam, electricity and natural gas, are
readily available. A wide range of raw materials such as natural gas
and petroleum derivatives are also available, often via pipeline.
BASF’s finished products and intermediate products may present
manufacturers with unique accessibility or integration opportunities.
In addition, waste disposal services in the form of wastewater treatment
plants and liquid and vent gas incineration can be utilized. Co-locating
can make optimum use of energy resources, raw materials, and feedstocks,
and can reduce inventories to a minimum, yielding cost savings and
protecting the
environment.
