‘Helping Make Communities Better’ grants support science
education resources
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., October 19, 2004 -- BASF presented two $1,000
“Helping Make Communities Better” grants to the Morris
Hills Regional School District in support of science education resources
at Morris Hills High School and Morris Knolls High School.
The company presented the donation to school representatives as
part of its community outreach activities during National Chemistry
Week, an annual program of the American Chemical Society that aims
to enhance the public’s awareness of the contributions of
chemistry to our everyday lives.
“The Morris Hills Regional District salutes BASF for its generous
contribution to our district,” said Dr. Ernest Palestis, Superintendent
of the Morris Hills Regional School District. “In order for
our students to prepare for higher education and the workplace,
it is necessary to be trained on the latest equipment. This generous
grant from BASF will put vital tools in the hands of our teachers
and students.”
“BASF is known as the company that helps make products better.
We also have a strong commitment to helping make the communities
in which we work and live better," said Don McGrath, BASF’s
Vice President of Corporate Communications. “As part of our
National Chemistry Week activities, we’re proud to make this
donation in support of science education and the students who may
go on to be the chemists, researchers, and engineers of tomorrow.”
