'Helping Make Communities Better' grant continues company's educational
focus
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., October 20, 2004 – Whitney Blanks has
been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from BASF in support of her studies
at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).
Blanks is currently a junior at UTC, majoring in Human Ecology.
The chemical company presented the scholarship to Blanks as part
of its community outreach activities during National Chemistry Week,
an annual program of the American Chemical Society that aims to
enhance the public’s awareness of the contributions of chemistry
to our everyday lives.
The educational grant marks the fourth consecutive year BASF has
partnered with the University of Tennessee's Development Office
in supporting the financial needs of deserving students.
"BASF is known as the company that helps make products better.
We also have a commitment to supporting the communities in which
