BASF grant supports West Morgan Elementary School’s computer purchase
Donation will support computer lab at new facility

DECATUR, Ala., October 20, 2004 -- BASF today presented West Morgan Elementary School with a $500 “Helping Make Communities Better” grant that will be used to purchase new computer equipment.

“We are in the process of moving to a new facility,” said Roger Houston, Principal of West Morgan Elementary School. “The BASF funds will be used for the purchase of new computers in the computer lab at our new building. We appreciate this grant very much.”

The grant continues BASF's company-wide commitment to science education. “BASF is known as the company that helps make products better and we also have a commitment to helping make the schools and communities in which we do business better,” said John Brock, Manager, Manager of BASF's Decatur site. "Learning about the wonders of science and technology can serve as a great inspiration for these young students, who may go on to be chemists, researchers, or engineers.”

Approximately 160 employees work at BASF's Decatur site. The site produces a variety of industrial coatings products.
