| BASF donates $500 to Southern Wildlife
Festival
Donation supports annual nature, wildlife exposition
DECATUR, Ala., October 29, 2004 -- BASF recently donated $500 to
the Southern Wildlife Festival, the annual Decatur nature and wildlife
exposition that features artists and exhibitors from over 20 states.
The two-day event is the largest wildlife art show in Alabama, one
of the largest in the south, and is listed as one of the best shows
of its type in the nation. Held at Calhoun Community College, the
festival attracts artists from across the United States to exhibit
and sell original paintings, carvings, sculpture and photographs
-- all with a wildlife theme.
“BASF has a strong commitment to helping make the communities
in which we operate better,” said John Brock, Manager, Manager
of BASF's Decatur site. "We're proud to support the 23rd annual
Southern Wildlife Festival, and the many talented individuals who
participate.”
Educational seminars being held at the festival include such topics
as water gardens, the snakes of Northern Alabama, buckshot and musket
loading, butterfly gardening, cooking wild game and bird watching
on Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge.
Approximately 160 employees work at BASF's Decatur site. The site
produces a variety of industrial coatings products.
