Donation will support student attendance at science summer camp
MONACA, Pa., November 5, 2004 -- BASF today presented Blackhawk
High School with a $500 “Helping Make Communities Better”
grant that the high school will use to fund a student’s attendance
at the Sci-Quest summer camp at Seton Hill College in Greensburg,
Pa.
“We thank BASF for this contribution in support of our science
education efforts,” said Kim Baker, a chemistry teacher at
Blackhawk High School, in accepting the grant. “Students who
have previously attended the summer camp have been thrilled with
the great content as well as the many science experiments they get
to perform.”
The grant continues BASF's company-wide commitment to science education.
“BASF is known as the company that helps make products better.
We also have a commitment to helping make the schools and communities
in which we do business better,” said Jim Mason, Manager of
BASF's Monaca site. " We're proud to support Blackhawk High
School’s science program. Attending this outstanding science
summer camp can serve as a great inspiration for a student who may
go on to be a chemist, researcher, or engineer.
