BASF donates $1,000 to Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club
Gift commemorates integration of Johnson Polymer

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., July 12, 2006 -- To commemorate the company’s first day of operation in the community following the acquisition of Johnson Polymer, BASF has presented a $1,000 “Helping Make Communities Better” grant to the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club of Seaford, Delaware.

“BASF is known as the company that ‘helps make products better.’ We also have a strong commitment to helping make the communities in which we work and live better," said Gerry Podesta, Vice President, Performance Chemicals, for BASF Corporation. “We’re delighted to support the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club and its efforts to provide programs for the young people in the Seaford area.”

The Boys & Girls Club offers a wide variety of programs, although its activities are geared towards the youth. Parents can also become involved, primarily by bringing their children to activities. The club also helps working parents by providing before care and after care for school age children.

BASF announced the acquisition of Johnson Polymer, a subsidiary of JohnsonDiversey Inc. of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, on May 2. The deal closed officially on June 30 and Johnson Polymer officially became part of BASF’s Performance Chemicals business unit on July 1 - including the company’s manufacturing facility in Seaford, Delaware. This division produces and markets a broad range of specialty chemicals worldwide including colorants and additives that are used in coatings applications.
