BASF to increase prices for high solids styrene-butadiene
dispersions for asphalt
CHARLOTTE, N.C., November 1, 2006 – Effective December 1, 2006, or as
contracts allow, BASF will increase prices in the United States and Canada by
$0.08 per wet pound on its Butonal® high solids styrene butadiene (SBR) latex
dispersions used for asphalt modification.
This increase is necessary to address increases in raw materials,
transportation and energy costs.
BASF polymer dispersions for asphalt modification enhance the mechanical
properties of pavement and result in increased durability, longevity, and
reduced road maintenance costs. BASF is the worldwide leader in the
supply of high solids styrene butadiene polymers for asphalt modification that
are used in hot mix, warm mix, and asphalt emulsions. BASF’s high performance
asphalt modifiers set the industry standard and help customers meet U.S.
Department of Transportation specifications.
Butonal is a registered trademark of
BASF Aktiengesellschaft.
