FLORHAM PARK, NJ, May 2, 2008 -- BASF will feature ultraviolet (UV) light stabilizers and effect pigments at the Society of Plastics Engineers’ Annual Technical Conference (SPE-ANTEC), May 4-8, at the Midwest Airlines Center and Milwaukee Hilton City Center Hotel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Visitors to the BASF exhibit will see technologies and materials that offer high value, long-term performance, vibrant colors and eye-catching special effects for a variety of plastics applications, including:

  • Firemist® Colormotion color shifting pigments that bring products to life with brilliant color and glittering effects that move across the color spectrum with changes in the viewing angle,
  • Firemist® effect pigments that can be used to impart luster, opalescence, pearlescence and other unique characteristics,
  • Lumina® mica-based effect pigments that create multi-optical effects when combined with other effect or color pigments,
  • Mearlite® pigments for liquid metal looks that offer highly reflective metallic brilliance, achieve the look without using metals, and have a smooth polished finish, and,
