BASF Ultrex® pigment extenders and reinforcers are engineered and structured to provide very high brightness for improved color. Ultrex pigments provide excellent tint strength and opacity, cleaner whites and colors and excellent titanium dioxide extension in both aqueous and solvent coatings.

For example, Ultrex® 95 pigment imparts high opacity and exceptional tint strength to paints and is a very cost-effective extender for titanium dioxide. This extender pigment is a highly pulverized calcined pigment that may be used in a wide range of aqueous or solvent-borne flat, eggshell, low semi-gloss and specialty paint applications to achieve maximum brightness. Ultrex 95 pigment also is well-suited for inks, plastics and other applications where ultrahigh brightness is essential.

Ultrex® 96 extender pigment also offers very high brightness for improved color, but it has a much finer particle size, thereby providing for better hiding and titanium dioxide extension in eggshell, semi-gloss and specialty paint applications. Ultrex 96 offers 96% G.E. Brightness for applications where brighter whites and cleaner colors are essential. Besides paints and coatings, Ultrex 96 is especially well-suited for plastics and other applications where very high brightness is critical.
