BASF Management Consulting: the internal management consultancy of the BASF Group.

BASF Management Consulting is the internal management consultancy of the BASF Group located in Ludwigshafen, Monheim (near Düsseldorf), Hong Kong, Singapore and Florham Park (USA). We advise our clients – the BASF top management – globally in various commercial, organizational, post-merger integration, carve-out, and change projects.

Our objective is to be the preferred and trusted partner of BASF units worldwide in general management questions.

We are a team of approximately 150 colleagues – with diverse academic, professional and cultural backgrounds – coming together to work with our clients on relevant and sustainable solutions. We maintain our independence and build credibility by taking personal responsibility for our actions. Pragmatic, structured and composed; we strike the right tone with our clients, between colleagues, over hierarchical boundaries and working areas.

We are looking for students who are close to completing a degree in the field of economics, chemistry, or engineering with exceptional grades, with relevant prior work experience in an international business consultancy or in a similar environment.

You can think analytically and future-oriented, and know how to use your communication skills and your assertiveness to successfully achieve your goals.

You have sound knowledge of standard IT applications, and excellent presentation skills to present your results in a competent and clear manner.

Moreover, you have working fluency in English, and you enjoy working in an international team.

As an intern, you are a full member of the team. You will work on the preparation, coordination and implementation of management consulting projects for the top management at BASF.

We are organized into four main practice groups that are aligned with core topics of our management:

  • Commercial Excellence: Supporting BASF business units to generate sustainable and profitable growth
  • Organizational Excellence: Optimizing and redefining organizational structures and processes to support strategy and business model implementation
  • Post-Merger Integration / Carve-Out: Managing mid- to large-scale acquisitions and divestments for BASF and further develop relevant expertise within the company
  • Change Excellence: Planning, developing and implementing change initiatives with BASF leadership

Among other responsibilities, you will conduct data analysis, conduct interviews with clients and prepare results for our top management.
