Sound-deadening MasterTop1327 flooring system receives M1 certification for extremely low VOC emissions

The sound-deadening flooring system MasterTop 1327 from BASF’s Master Builders Solutions® product family has been awarded M1 certification. M1 is the highest category in terms of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions in the Finnish “Emission Classification of Building Materials” classification system and is based on an analysis of VOC emissions. 

DME is a methanol equivalent and can be used as an intermediate to produce Moreover, the certification also implies an odor test, which requires that odor levels are neutral/acceptable. The M1 classification can only be achieved by products with extremely low emissions levels.

The MasterTop 1327 flooring system has previously achieved other key distinctions, including meeting the demanding requirements set out by the AgBB (German Committee for Health-related Evaluation of Building Products) emissions evaluation scheme. It has also achieved the highest class (A+) from the French VOC evaluation system and is approved for use in BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology), LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) eco-certified buildings.

MasterTop 1327-20dB is the only liquid-applied flooring system that demonstrably reduces impact noise by 20 dB. Accordingly, this flooring system, which is very pleasant to walk on, promotes a positive indoor environment in terms of both comfort and noise reduction. Furthermore, MasterTop 1327 is a seamless system that is easy to clean. It is incredibly wear-resistant and offers a long-term and economic flooring system well-suited to public buildings such as schools, shopping centers, hospitals and office premises.

The MasterTop 1327 flooring system is polyurethane (PU) based and is offered in an almost infinite number of RAL and NCS colors. This provides major opportunities for creativity in terms of shapes, patterns and designs, hence the floor is an attractive solution for architects and interior designers.
