About the magazine

Panorama with a couple

Dear reader,

Products and solutions based on chemistry enrich our lives every day. They help to conserve resources, to produce healthy food and to improve people’s quality of life. But chemistry’s contribution is often not easy to see at first glance. With BASF’s magazine Creating Chemistry, we aim to show how chemistry helps to meet global challenges.

What will the city of the future look like? Can packaging help prevent food waste? What progress has been made in the international community’s fight against malaria? This magazine addresses questions like these from a variety of perspectives.

The range of topics is broad – because chemistry is as multifaceted as its many applications. Various stakeholders from the fields of politics, industry, science and society share their views in Creating Chemistry. We believe this discussion is important because we want our readers to form their own opinions.

“We explore the issues shaping the world of today and tomorrow – and the role that innovations based on chemistry can play.”

Anke Schmidt, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Government Relations BASF

The magazine primarily focuses on these topics: resources, environment and climate, food and nutrition, and quality of life. We are certain that – especially in these areas – chemistry can help create a sustainable future. Find out for yourself – in our online magazine. Other articles can be found in the print edition, which is available here.
