Human Resources: Caring for our most valuable asset

BASF's success is the achievement of our employees - become part of our success story.

In order to implement our global "We create chemistry" strategy and achieve the demanding growth targets set by BASF, we rely above all else on our employees. We, the HR team, bear a significant responsibility here because we play a key role in living out our strategic motto "excellent employees, excellent work conditions and excellent managers". This is how we create value for our company.

Whether you work at our HR unit in Ludwigshafen or as an HR business partner at one of our other sites - you are part of a global team. You can network with colleagues and benefit from their valuable knowledge and expertise.

By showing endurance and commitment, accepting responsibility for issues and being open for new ideas, you will significantly drive the HR work forward and contribute to the company's success.

Have you just successfully completed your degree? Then you can apply directly for a position or the START IN Human Resources trainee program.

Direct entry means "on the job" training - from day one you will accept responsibility for a subject area. With the "START IN Human Resources" trainee program we offer you project responsibility from day one as well as an assignment in another country, networking events and the support of a mentor.

With the "Welcome to BASF – BE PART" program our new employees are ideally prepared for their working environment. You can also take advantage of many opportunities to build up and expand your network. The program is supplemented by the "Welcome to HR" initiative.

We are Human Resources with passion and also want to see this passion in you! That's why we are looking for personalities who bring with them excellent technical qualifications as well as the desire to make a difference and achieve something great in a team.

You have completed your degree in business, law, social science or humanities with above-average grades. You have already gained some experience in HR work via internships; ideally you have already worked on projects and know the HR added value chain. You see yourself as a partner of business and are happy to accept responsibility. If you combine these characteristics with enthusiasm, you will find here a personal and international working environment with a variety of opportunities and long-term development perspectives.

You can work in our central HR organization, according to your area of work, on designing our HR products and processes and supporting their implementation - including in the following areas:

  • development of the HR strategy and processes for the whole BASF group
  • compensation & benefits
  • recruitment
  • qualification and development of our employees and managers
  • change management
  • personnel planning and controlling
  • personnel transfers
  • training
  • labor law

In addition, our group companies and business units have their own HR departments. As an HR Business Partner you will advise managers and employees on HR issues and be the first contact for all HR questions. You will implement HR instruments for the specific unit and support the design of central HR products and their development with your practical experience.

BASF will support you in actively organizing your development, e.g.:

  • as a specialist or generalist
  • in an expert or management career
  • in a central unit or as an HR business partner
  • at home or another country
  • within or beyond the HR environment.

In the individual annual development meeting we will discuss with you how you see your development.

Development is more than just a vertical management career, changing jobs or moving to a higher salary bracket. For us development also means benefiting from your own experience and that of others and contributing this knowledge profitably in daily life.
