Sustainability News – December 2019
In October 2019, BASF celebrated the 25th anniversary of its “Vision 2010”, continuing a long tradition of proactively steering towards a sustainable future – balancing environmental, societal, and economic interests in a constructive exchange with politics and society. But it wasn’t just “Vision 2010” that brought dialogue with interest groups into focus. The exchange with customers, partners, suppliers, employees and representatives from society and governments has always been part of our corporate value creation. “If we want to actively shape the future, it’s important to have an open and honest dialogue about what is technologically feasible and necessary. This requires courage,” says Saori Dubourg, member of BASF’s Board of Executive Directors. “It’s about solving tomorrow’s dilemma and thinking in terms of solutions with all stakeholders. While a science and fact-based discussion is crucial to advance existing frameworks, inclusive growth means also taking society along. Herein, we need to approach people more, and listen better.”
