For BASF, disclosure and structured reporting represent a necessary and useful tool to inform shareholders and experts from civil society about the company’s economic, environmental and social performance. Therefore, BASF strives to report interdependencies between its financial and sustainability performance in a transparent and accessible way. In recognition of its significant achievements in this discipline, the Ethical Corporation has honored BASF with an award for their 2016 Report in the category of “Integrated Report of the Year.” The award ceremony was held in London in October 2017 where the Ethical Corporation, an independent business intelligence, publishing and networking company, is located.
The jury found BASF’s corporate report to be a “seasoned integrated report” and described it as “a truly integrated report with an impressive set of measures and presented in an accessible manner.”
This is the first award for BASF for its integrated corporate report from the Ethical Corporation, however, the company has received other awards in this category. For instance, the auditing and consultancy company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has recently recognized BASF with a “Building Public Trust Award” for innovative reporting.
