BASF and ANDRITZ sign license agreement for OASE® technology
Ludwigshafen, Germany, October 23, 2025 – BASF SE (BASF) and ANDRITZ Group have signed a license agreement for the use of BASF’s proprietary gas treatment technology, OASE® blue, in a carbon capture project planned to be implemented in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The project aims to capture approximately 435,000[1] tons of CO2 annually from the flue gases of a waste-to-energy plant for sequestration; the city of Aarhus has set itself the goal of becoming CO2-neutral by 2030. ANDRITZ, the selected supplier for the carbon capture plant, is currently conducting pre-engineering. The project’s implementation is contingent upon the customer receiving funding from the Danish CCS fund.
Change in leadership at BASF communications
Dr. Nina Schwab-Hautzinger, Head of Corporate Communications & Government Relations, will leave BASF effective January 31, 2026, to take on a new professional opportunity. The company will announce the successor in due course.

BASF and IFF announce strategic collaboration to drive next-generation enzyme and polymer innovation
Ludwigshafen, Germany, and New York – BASF, one of the world’s largest chemical companies and leader in sustainable product innovation, announced a strategic collaboration with International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF), a global leader in bioscience innovation, to accelerate the development of IFF’s Designed Enzymatic Biomaterials™ technology platform and create next-generation enzyme technologies for fabric, dish and personal care as well as industrial cleaning applications.
BASF Care Chemicals announces the second Care 360° Sustainability Days
Ludwigshafen, Germany – October 20, 2025 – BASF's Care Chemicals division is hosting its second Care 360° Sustainability Days event, which will take place from November 11 to 13, 2025. Following the success of the first event, which focused on the European market, this year's event is aimed at customers from all over the world, with the ambition of exploring sustainability topics and opportunities in various industries.
