Here at BASF, virtual modeling and computer simulations go hand in hand with real-life laboratory experiments. Our supercomputer, Quriosity, provides us with an efficient way of solving complicated problems and enables greater innovation to be achieved in a shorter period of time.
For automotive paints, we use real time data from our customers’ painting lines so that the colour can be adjusted to meet customer requirements as closely as possible. This enables us to ensure that the colour of the car is just right.
At our production plants, predictive maintenance technology forecasts the functional state of critical parts and components. Sensors provide live data about the operating conditions. This data is modeled and then evaluated using special analysis software, which also takes into account historical process data.
