High performance for new applications: SLENTITE and SLENTEX at the K19

The world's largest plastics trade fair "K" will take place in Düsseldorf from 16 to 23 October. As in previous years, BASF is represented with a new generation of energy-efficient thermal insulation materials: This time SLENTITE and SLENTEX will be presented in two new applications - the materials demonstrate their strengths both in carbon concrete facade elements and in a prototype camper van.

Woodie wins "Real Estate Oscar"

At the International Real Estate Fair in Cannes, the Mipim Awards were presented - the Oscars of the real estate industry. In the Best Residential Development category, the "Woodie" student residence was able to prevail against strong international competition. The seven-story wooden building impressed with its sustainability, modular construction and extremely short construction time.

Aerogel research: EU project "NanoHybrids" completed

The European research project NanoHybrids has succeeded in further developing production processes for organic aerogel particles and, for the first time, in producing larger quantities of these novel materials. BASF is also part of the consortium of industry and science, which has now taken an important step towards industrial mass production and application of particulate aerogels.

SLENTITE and SLENTEX at the MADE in Milan

900 exhibitors and 90,000 visitors met in March at the MADE in Milan. The high-performance insulating materials SLENTITE and SLENTEX were also represented at Italy's most important trade fair for architecture and the construction industry. Together with its Italian partner Elements, BASF presented both products in applications for interior and reveal insulation.

BASF at BAU 2019 - SLENTITE wins BAKA award for product innovation

In mid-January, BASF will be exhibiting its high-performance insulating materials SLENTITE and SLENTEX at the world's leading trade fair BAU Munich. Both products represent a new generation of thermal insulation: super slim, aerogel-based and with outstanding material properties. BASF presents first application examples in carbon concrete façade elements and is pleased about the award of the BAKA Prize to SLENTITE. 

Auf den Bunker wird ein Quader mit einer Kantenlänge von 22 Metern gesetzt, in dem auf zwei Etagen eine Fläche von rund 1.000 Quadratmetern entsteht. Die vorgehängte Fassade besteht aus organisch wirkenden Formen und spielt mit Licht und Schattenwirkungen. Der Netzwerkgedanke und die Kunststoff-Materialwelt spiegeln sich so in der Fassade wider./ A cuboid structure with a side length of 22 meters will be built on top of the bunker, creating an area of around 1,000 square meters over two floors. The curtain wall is composed of organic shapes and features interesting visual interplay between light and shadow. The facade therefore reflects the concept of networking and the world of plastic materials.

Trend-setting product solutions from the BASF Creation Center

In the future, BASF's Performance Materials division will combine its world-leading competencies in the development of product solutions in one location. The goal of the Creation Center at the Ludwigshafen site is to align innovative solutions even faster with the needs of the market in close cooperation with customers and partners. The opening is scheduled for 2019.

The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) presented Erika Peterman with their Board Member of the Year award for her many contributions, including those toward the #HurricaneStrong initiative. For several years BASF and the FLASH community have been working together to raise awareness of disaster resilience practices in North America.

Once a year, the international umbrella organization DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) organizes the World Green Building Week as an official German partner together with the World Green Building Council. BASF is once again a cooperation partner for this theme week.

BASF at the DBZ Hotel Forum

What makes a good hotel? This question will be raised at the DBZ Expert Forum, which will take place on 18 September in Berlin. The annual London Construction Awards are all about building, architecture and design. In the category "Marketing Initiative of the Year" CORPUS has made it onto the shortlist for 2018. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the end of October in parallel with the London Build.
