Heliatek GmbH, Dresden, Germany, was founded in 2006 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Ulm. The company develops, produces and commercializes organic solar cells.
The technology developed by Heliatek enables cost-effective and efficient roll-to-roll production of large-area modules on inexpensive and flexible substrates. The company uses well-defined, non-polymeric organic materials with high thermal and photochemical stability.
BASF SE cooperates with Heliatek GmbH and Robert Bosch GmbH on special research projects for the further development of these new technologies.
