BASF launches new AgSolution Farm in Jember, Indonesia
- Research partnerships with the University of Jember to develop new products and solutions to meet local growers’ needs
- Continuous investment signifies BASF’s commitment to agriculture industry in Indonesia
- Research farm provides training and technical support for farmers to increase agricultural productivity
Jember, Indonesia – August 1, 2018 – BASF, in partnership with the University of Jember, today opened AgSolution Farm, a new agricultural research and training center in Jember, East Java. Located within Agrotechnopark managed by the University of Jember, the AgSolution Farm will provide various agricultural trainings for the University and farmers. The research and training center is fully supported by BASF’s field researchers and academics from the University.
“BASF is committed to investing in Indonesia and partnering with local agricultural institutions to help growers meet the growing demand for high-quality and nutritious food,” said Martin Wolf, BASF’s Business Director for Agricultural Solutions in ASEAN. “Our latest AgSolution Farm will enable us to develop more tailored solutions specifically for Indonesian farmers, and help them quickly adopt the latest technologies and practices to boost their crop yields.”
The launch of AgSolution Farm supports field biological testing for BASF’s Agricultural Solutions products and helps accelerate the development and introduction of strategic products in Indonesia and other Asia Pacific markets.
The partnership brings significant benefits to the university and local farmers. “The partnership with BASF enables our students and faculty members to advance their competence and to broaden their knowledge about environmentally friendly agricultural solutions,” stated Sigit Soeparjono, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Jember. “Our joint research aims to bring our crop protection innovation and best agriculture practices to the famers, so that they can increase their productivity in a sustainable manner.”
AgSolution Farm possesses research capabilities for all crop protection products, such as AgCelence for plant health, seed treatment, fungicide, insecticide, herbicide, biological products and others, for various crops including rice, horticultures, field crops, coffee, and so on.
