BASF partners with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia to promote ICT learning at school in Mauk, Tangerang
- New computer laboratory at SDN Kedung Dalem III gives children access to ICT education and supports their learning activities
- Collaboration underlines BASF’s commitment to quality education
Tangerang, Indonesia – September 19, 2019 – Students at SDN Kedung Dalem III in Mauk, Tangerang now have access to information, communication and technology (ICT) education to enhance their learning experience, with the opening of the computer laboratory built by BASF and Habitat for Humanity in Indonesia. The lab features 21 sets of computers and reading materials which students from neighboring schools can also benefit from the newly inaugurated facility.
“BASF believes that children deserve equal opportunities in education,” said Agus Ciputra, President Director of BASF Indonesia. “We want to bridge the gap by promoting ICT education and accelerating technology transfer. We believe this will help children prepare themselves to face the rapid development of science and technology in the future.” BASF in Indonesia focuses its corporate citizenship activities on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #4, Quality Education.
Susanto, the National Director of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia said, “We believe that life starts from family, and through education, a family is built. Therefore, we are thrilled to partner with BASF to build a computer laboratory for students in SDN Kedung Dalem III, Mauk, to support their education. We hope with good education, the children can grow in strength, stability, and self-reliance in the future.”
The school improvement project has also been supported with productions from BASF’s Master Builders Solutions range and Propan, who provided flooring systems and paints for the construction, respectively.
