CHINAPLAS 2017: BASF’s specialty plastic Ultrason® in food processor makes cooking safer and more convenient
- Highly heat resistant Ultrason® is the preferred choice for safe food contact applications
- BASF at CHINAPLAS 2017: Booth 11.2A41, China Import & Export Fair Complex, May 16-19, 2017
Guangzhou, China/ Taipei, Taiwan – March 23, 2017 – BASF will unveil a new application of Ultrason® in a food processor at CHINAPLAS 2017 in Guangzhou, China from May 16-19, 2017.
The food processor features BASF’s amorphous high temperature resistant thermoplastic, Ultrason E2010, in the transparent cooker lid. With this transparent lid, chefs can easily observe soups or stews in the closed container during the cooking process. This new lid is not only superior to ones made from traditional glass in terms of weight, but also offers a longer functional lifespan and a more convenient cooking experience. In addition, as it is resistant to food colorants and cleaning agents while delivering excellent dimensional stability, Ultrason is the ideal choice of material for components used in premium household appliances. It complies with the American FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the European regulations for food contact applications.
Ultrason can be successfully used for applications in which other engineering plastics fail to meet the requirements. By virtue of their extraordinary versatility, Ultrason resins can substitute for thermosets, metals and ceramics.
