Our global network with more than 600 excellent universities, research institutes and companies is an important part of our Know-How Verbund. We collaborate with them in order to achieve our growth targets.
In our collaborations we offer scientists the opportunity to participate in close-to-practice research projects and thereby create added value for our society by developing innovative solutions. Therefore, we maintain close relations with many universities and research institutes around the world and participate in nationally and internationally sponsored projects.
Collaboration is all about bringing the right people together to work on challenging and meaningful problems. BASF is also highly interested to invest in such relationships to grow together with its partners.
The program, launched in 2012, was established by BASF Nutrition and Health Asia Pacific and sees grants awarded to researchers in Asia Pacific to study nutritional topics relevant for Asian-Pacific demographics and diets. This strategic platform is also a collaboration between BASF, researchers as well as manufacturers to come together to investigate and gather first-hand findings in new research areas.
Each year, research proposals are peer reviewed and selected by the Newtrition® Asia Research Grant expert panel which includes eminent academics in human nutrition. Winners will each receive up to 40,000 Euros in equivalent local currency and will have 18 months to conduct their research.
The UNIQUE - The BASF Academic Partnership Program focuses on leading universities worldwide. Its aim is to develop lasting relationships, strengthen BASF's innovation portfolio and enable direct access to scientific expertise, new technologies and talented minds from various disciplines.
How? We collaborate with multiple research groups in each university. To further develop the relationships and create a network for scientists from the universities and BASF, we have assigned a dedicated relationship manager (also called academic partnership developers, or short: APD)
Currently there are 15 UNIQUE universities.
Our Postdoc Centers focus on research groups from multiple top universities in regional proximity. A dedicated scientist from BASF resides on site to promote exchange and collaboration among the groups and with BASF researchers.
We collaborate to include the specific expertise of academic partners to our global Know-How Verbund and cover basic research as well as application-driven projects.
