The Shared Services Center is part of BASF’s global network of shared services organizations, providing functional services to BASF group of companies in the Asia Pacific region.

 

BASF Asia-Pacific Service Centre was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the regional service hub has approximately 700 employees and growing. Focused on delivering the best service and solutions possible, the hub aims to be the melting pot for talents by providing career growth opportunities, development via coaching, exemplary leadership and attractive compensation and benefit packages.

Service Hub Kuala Lumpur also provides quality functional and know-how services in the areas of finance, controlling, human resources, real estate and facilities management, communications, environmental, health and safety, procurement, import-export order management, and information services to BASF companies and affiliates in the Asia Pacific region. BASF also has two other regional hubs located in Berlin, Germany, and Montevideo, Uruguay that cover the European Union and Americas regions.

Finance Services
The Finance Services team ensures precise and timely financial accounting and reporting, processing of financial transactions in addition to aligning of processes within regulatory standards.

 

Human Resource Services

The Human Resources (HR) Services team specializes in employees’ information management, payroll administration and employees’ career life cycle processes support. The team is committed to achieving HR excellence in Asia Pacific by delivering high quality end-to-end intelligent and sustainable HR solutions, leveraging on processes harmonization and standardization.

 

Information Services
Information Services (IS) develops IS solutions to achieve operational excellence. The team optimizes both performance and competitive strength through the delivery of information systems and technology.

 

Environment, Health & Safety Services
The main function of the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Services is to manage the chemical regulation compliance for BASF Asia Pacific companies. The team develops and implements a standardized process and provides transparency to all BASF’s stakeholders in chemical compliance and regulation in the region.

 

Procurement Services
Procurement Services was set up in 2013 to improve process efficiency and increase the effectiveness of buyers in the region through the harmonization of process, enforcement of compliance as well as consolidation and automation of procurement operational tasks.

 

Controlling Services
Controlling Services was launched in June 2015 and focuses on the operative reporting in the operating units and regional units in Asia. Its goal is to bundle, harmonize and automatize reporting to be more efficient and effective.

 

Import Export Operations
Import Export Operations is responsible for the Asia Pacific Trading Center (APTC) which was set up under the legal entity, BASF South East Pte Ltd (BSEA), Singapore in 1999. In November 2016, transition of APTC operations from Hong Kong and Singapore to Kuala Lumpur was completed.

APTC creates a focal point to connect suppliers all around the globe to all Asia Pacific countries. It handles intra-company purchase orders and hence acts as a virtual trading organization providing a high degree of control over import/export supply chain activities for regional business units.
