Our global network with more than 600 excellent universities, research institutes and companies is an important part of our Know-How Verbund. We collaborate with them in order to achieve our growth targets.
In our collaborations we offer scientists the opportunity to participate in close-to-practice research projects and thereby create added value for our society by developing innovative solutions. Therefore, we maintain close relations with many universities and research institutes around the world and participate in nationally and internationally sponsored projects.
Collaboration is all about bringing the right people together to work on challenging and meaningful problems. BASF is also highly interested to invest in such relationships to grow together with its partners.
The UNIQUE - The BASF Academic Partnership Program focuses on leading universities worldwide. Its aim is to develop lasting relationships, strengthen BASF's innovation portfolio and enable direct access to scientific expertise, new technologies and talented minds from various disciplines.
How? We collaborate with multiple research groups in each university. To further develop the relationships and create a network for scientists from the universities and BASF, we have assigned a dedicated relationship manager (also called academic partnership developers, or short: APD)
Currently there are 15 UNIQUE universities.
Our Postdoc Centers focus on research groups from multiple top universities in regional proximity. A dedicated scientist from BASF resides on site to promote exchange and collaboration among the groups and with BASF researchers.
We collaborate to include the specific expertise of academic partners to our global Know-How Verbund and cover basic research as well as application-driven projects.
