DNA labeling and detection technology based on click chemistry.
baseclick GmbH is an ISO9001:2015-certified company headquartered in Neuried, near Munich, Germany. It was founded in 2008 by the shareholders, BASF SE, Ludwigshafen and LMU, Munich.
The core of the baseclick technology is the “click reaction”, a copper catalyzed cycloaddition allowing virtually unlimited functionalization of nucleotides, small synthetic oligonucleotides and large gene fragments with unprecedented efficiency. It offers broad application options and delivers high yields under easy and quick reaction conditions using readily available and inexpensive reagents.
The Scripps Research Institute patented the “click chemistry” of its discoverer, B. Sharpless (2001 Nobel Laureate). baseclick GmbH holds a worldwide license for the use of this technology in the field of nucleic acids and offers it to customers for research and diagnostics, and, increasingly, the development of pharmaceuticals through modification of RNA molecules. Other products offered by baseclick based on click chemistry are cell proliferation kits, modified oligonucleotides, FISH products, click reagents and many more.
