Martin Widmann to head BASF’s global business unit Fuel and Lubricant Solutions
Ludwigshafen, Germany – October 22, 2012 – Martin Widmann, Senior Vice President, has taken over responsibility for BASF’s global business unit Fuel and Lubricant Solutions as of October 1st, 2012. Fuel and Lubricant Solutions combines the fuel and lubricant related activities of BASF on one industry platform. The business unit is pursuing an ambitious strategy targeting growth in all regions, technology leadership as well as close co-operations with its customers in developing and introducing innovations to the markets.
Martin Widmann joined BASF SE in 1986 as a trainee and held various positions within Performance Plastics, Corporate Communications, Procurement and in Nutrition and Health division in Germany, Japan and Switzerland. Before joining Fuel and Lubricant Solutions he was responsible for the global business unit Pharma Ingredients and Services, located in Evionnaz, Switzerland.
Fuel and Lubricant Solutions is part of BASF's Performance Chemicals division. The business unit operates major production, testing and laboratory facilities in Europe, North and South America and Asia in order to guarantee reliable customer support globally. The product range includes well-known consumer products like Europe’s number one engine coolant Glysantin®, as well as tailor-made solutions developed in exclusive partnerships with major accounts.
