BASF again with good placement in sustainability ratings

BASF has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the 15th consecutive year. Based on the assessment by analysts from the asset manager RobecoSAM, BASF has been especially recognized for its engagement in the areas of innovation management, environmental and social reporting, product stewardship and human capital development. The DJSI World is one of the most renowned sustainability indices and represents the top 10 percent of the largest 2,500 companies included in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM.

Oekom Research AG, another leading rating agency for sustainable investment, has rated BASF again in the category Prime. Prime Status is awarded to leaders in the respective industry that convinced in the rating process according to industry-specific criteria in terms of social and environmental compatibility. Among other things, BASF received special recognition for its climate protection strategy with clear greenhouse gas reduction targets as well as the comprehensive Sustainable Solution Steering™ method for determining the sustainability performance of products in their respective specific application.

BASF also continues to be listed in the sustainability indices FTSE4Good (issued by FTSE Russel), Euronext Vigeo Europe 120 and Euronext Vigeo Eurozone 120 (data analysis and index publication by Vigeo) Ethibel Sustainability (issued by Forum ETHIBEL, data basis provided by Vigeo) and MSCI Sustainability(based on the assessment of analysts from MSCI ESG research). Only companies meeting stringent criteria in the area of social, environmental and corporate governance and who manage to continuously confirm or develop these in regularly conducted audits are listed in those indices.
