BASF Report 2016 published

February 28, 2017

The BASF Report 2016 has been published and is now available online.

Containing all key figures for the 2016 business year, BASF’s corporate report was released and presented at the Annual Press Conference. As an integrated report, the publication documents the company’s economic, environmental and social performance and is geared toward our customers, employees, shareholders, business partners, neighbors and the public. Combining financial and sustainability reporting into one document, the BASF Report demonstrates how sustainability contributes to the company’s success.

The interplay between financial and nonfinancial figures can be seen in a graphic modeled on the framework of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). Entitled “How we create value”, this chart illustrates how BASF creates long-term value for the company, the environment and for society. Sustainability reporting follows the international “comprehensive” G4 guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The “How we create value” chart provides an overview of BASF’s key financial and nonfinancial figures.

This year’s introductory section shows how BASF’s innovations contribute to a sustainable future. BASF supports the United Nations in the implementation of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which create the framework for sustainable business practices at the economic, social and environmental levels. The BASF Report’s introduction shows examples of how we contribute to the SDGs: with responsible production, solutions for clean water, products for sustainable agriculture and to combat hunger, and with contributions to infrastructure, industrialization and innovation.
