Responsible Partnering

Networks

To ensure sustainability and thus the interplay between ecological, economic and social issues, it is important for different social groupings to cooperate. Networks are therefore of major importance.

Stakeholder Advisory Council

A fixed component of our sustainability management is the continuous exchange with our stakeholders. In order to involve our stakeholders more intensively, we established the independent Stakeholder Advisory Council.

Community Advisory Panels

As a company in the chemical industry, we are aware of the particular responsibility we have towards our neighbors. Thus we set up neighborhood dialogues, mostly at our larger production sites.

Political communication and advocacy

Dialog with politics and society gives us an opportunity to make a constructive contribution to shaping the world we live in.

Nano-Dialog

"We foster dialog based on honesty, respect and mutual trust." This principle is an integral element of BASF's strategy and applies to all issues of concern to BASF and naturally also to nanotechnology.

Palm-Dialog

BASF wants to ensure that its renewable-based products are made from sustainably sourced raw materials.

Malaria

At the Malaria Summit on April 18, 2018 in London, BASF, Bayer, Mitsui Chemicals, Sumitomo and Syngenta have announced the initiative “ZEROby40”. Together they reaffirmed their commitment to use their expert knowledge and chemical resources to support the research, development and supply of innovative products to eradicate malaria by 2040.

Cobalt initiative

As part of a cross-industry initiative, the companies BMW Group, BASF SE, Samsung SDI and Samsung Electronics have launched a joint cobalt pilot project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project seeks to contribute to identifying workable solutions that lead to better working conditions at the mine site.
