Sven Thate, PhD

Short bio

Sven Thate joined BASF Venture Capital GmbH in January 2014 as an Investment Manager in Ludwigshafen. Prior to this, he worked in Taiwan and Germany for BASF’s Electronic Materials business unit, leading different technology and business development teams for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries. He began his career at BASF in electro-chemistry and fuel cell research. Sven Thate studied Biochemical and Chemical Engineering in Stuttgart and Birmingham. The subject of his PhD thesis was high-purity water production using electro-membrane technology.
