Ludwigshafen, Germany – September 4, 2025 – BASF is proud to announce a major performance upgrade to its QDYES^TM, a cutting-edge quantum dot level (QD-level) solution designed for LCD backlight applications. Implemented in 2025, the upgrade pioneers a greener and highly efficient path for manufacturers aiming to produce wide color gamut displays.

Zhejiang Guanghua Technology Co., Ltd. (KHUA), a global manufacturer specializing in polyester resins for powder coatings, and Chongqing Hehui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Hehui), a polyurethane catalysts company, are adopting BASF’s methodology to calculate product carbon footprints (PCF).

BASF has reached a major construction milestone at the Zhanjiang Verbund site with the successful mechanical completion of the first batch of plants in the acrylics complex, including the glacial acrylic acid (GAA) and butyl acrylate (BA) plants. 

Zhejiang Chemetall Surface Treatment Materials Co., Ltd, the Pinghu site of the Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division, operating under the Chemetall brand, has been recognized for its commitment to sustainability by the Economic Development and Ecological Environment Bureau in Pinghu Dushan Port, China. The site was commended for its pioneering efforts in achieving 100% renewable electricity coverage powered through the purchase of green electricity and implementation of photovoltaic power generation systems, serving as a reference for green and low-carbon transformation to other chemical firms in the industrial district.

Mercedes-Benz has reaffirmed its trust in BASF’s coatings competence by renewing its partnership with Glasurit and R-M, two of BASF’s premium refinish brands, across the Asia Pacific region.
