  • New distribution arrangements to allow specialised focus for the turf industry

Melbourne, Australia – December 4, 2017 - BASF has signed an exclusive agreement with Globe Australia Pty Ltd for the distribution and warehousing of its turf solutions portfolio, starting from January 1, 2018. The move will enable BASF to bring innovations to the local market faster and more effectively.

Stewart Paterson, National Commercial Manager, BASF said, “Globe Growing Solutions has a large network of turf specialists serving the Australian market, and the skills and experience to support turf portfolio customers including golf courses, landscape architects and sporting venues. We are continuing to invest substantially in research and development in this area, and we have a strong pipeline of new solutions for the turf industry which will be launched over the next five years,” Paterson explained.

BASF’s turf solutions feature a range of insecticides, fungicides, colourants, water solutions, wetting agents, spray markers and herbicides, ideal for use across the full spectrum of professional turf management situations. BASF is a global leader in innovative solutions for the turf industry, with an overall investment of around €1.3 million (approximately AU$1.8 million) per day in research and development for its agriculture solutions business globally.

Peter Frewin, Business Manager at Globe Australia said, “we are looking forward to representing the existing range of products, while working closely with BASF to help streamline the ability to deliver new technologies to the turf industry. There’s a real buzz within Globe Growing Solutions to be exclusively representing this range of products.

“We’ll work closely with BASF’s marketing and research and development teams, to provide insight on the needs of our customers and the industry and continue a high level of service to existing clients that have supported the range to date. We’ll also be working to extend opportunities to new customers,” Frewin added.

Key products in the turf solutions portfolio include popular herbicide Drive XL, for superior post-emergent control of summer grass and white clover, along with colourants Green Lawnger which instantly restores dormant grass to a natural green colour, and Vision Pro, ideal for sporting stadiums, greens and tees.

“We are confident that the agreement will benefit our turf solutions customers through better access to a new pipeline of products, while continuing a high level of customer service,” Paterson added.
