BASF named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2016
Company acknowledged for employee engagement and family benefits
MISSISSAUGA, ON, December 8, 2015 – Today, BASF was named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2016.
“In today’s competitive employment marketplace, it’s important for BASF to deliver innovative programs to attract and retain top talent,” said Terri Howard, Director of Human Resources at BASF Canada. “As part of our total offer, we provide opportunities for professional development, a collaborative work environment, and comprehensive benefits – all key factors in creating a workplace culture that drives success.”
Mediacorp, the country’s largest publisher of employment periodicals, also cited BASF Canada for providing its employees with benefits that meet their needs at different life stages, from health care and parental leave to scholarships and retirement. In addition to offering 17 weeks parental leave top-up for new parents, the company offers family coverage on their health plan.
The company also received recognition for its employee engagement activities including eTV, a video network that provides employees with a platform to share their work experiences, thoughts and ideas. Employee Communications is a key criteria for the competition, which identifies companies that offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
Employers are evaluated by the editors of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers using eight criteria: physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
Selection was based on information from a national Top Employer application submitted by BASF Canada, together with independent research by Mediacorp.
In November, BASF Canada was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2016. The company was also recognized as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2014 and 2015.
