BASF to Divest Softex Business to GOVI CAST

BASF has signed an Asset Purchase Agreement to sell its Softex business to GOVI CAST Sdn. Bhd., a leading supplier of specialty chemicals. The transaction includes the customer list, formulation and production know-how, and a tolling/supply agreement to ensure continuity during the transition. Physical assets will be excluded from the agreement.

CHINAPLAS 2026: BASF collaborates with Niber Technologies on high-performance electrospun innovation based on Freeflex^®TPU

At CHINAPLAS 2026, BASF will showcase an outdoor jacket produced in collaboration with Niber Technologies, Pte. Ltd. (Niber Technologies), a leading electrospinning specialist. The jacket incorporates the newly developed Freeflex^®E 130, a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) based electrospun nano membrane.

For high-temperature applications in contact with food, BASF is now offering a portfolio of polyphenlysulfone (PPSU) grades which is not based on Bisphenol S (BPS) and Bisphenol A (BPA).

BASF announces a price increase of up to $100 per metric ton for butyl acrylate (BA) and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) across Asia-Pacific. The adjustment will take effect immediately, or in accordance with existing contractual agreements.
