BASF puts innovation on display at AAPS
- New Kollicoat IR® binder prevents peroxide formation in APIs
- Workshop, technical papers, new solution platforms on display
FLORHAM PARK, NJ – October 21, 2015 – A new binder designed to help formulators develop peroxide-sensitive active pharmaceutical ingredients, a workshop on topical semi-solid formulations, and 18 technical posters highlight BASF’s activities at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) meeting, October 25-29 in Orlando, Florida.
At AAPS, BASF will introduce Kollicoat IR® binder, which complements BASF’s portfolio of solutions for formulating peroxide sensitive active ingredients. Kollicoat IR® does not form peroxides during processing, even after contact with air. It offers binding capacity similar to polyvinylpyrollidone (PVP) and low viscosity, which makes it easy to process.
On Tuesday, October 27, BASF will offer a workshop entitled “Topical Semi-solid Microstructure and its significance in Formulation Performance and Efficacy.” The workshop will be led by BASF experts in conjunction with partners from Rutgers University, DPT Laboratories LTD, and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It will begin at 1 p.m., in Room 3 of the Orlando County Convention Center.
BASF experts have also co-authored 18 technical posters that will be presented during the show.
