BASF Canada supports those affected by Alberta wildfires

Company to give $10,000 and match employee donations

MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 5, 2016 – In support of the more than 80,000 people displaced by wildfires in Fort McMurray, Alberta, BASF Canada today announced it will donate $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal and match personal donations up to $1,000 per employee.

 “Our thoughts are with the people of Fort McMurray and those affected by the wildfires,” said Marcelo Lu, President of BASF Canada. “BASF wants to help the Canadian Red Cross with its ongoing relief efforts for those impacted during this difficult time. We are also encouraging our employees to support their fellow Canadians and hope our collective contributions provide some relief.”

BASF has employees throughout the province of Alberta, with manufacturing sites in Blackie and Nisku. Additionally, the company services a number of customers in northern Alberta.
