BASF supports flood relief in Brazoria County
- Company donates $50,000 and matches employee contributions
- Works with key customers to gather essential items for donation
FLORHAM PARK, NJ, AND FREEPORT, TX, June 30, 2016 – BASF Corporation donated $50,000 to the United Way of Brazoria County to support recovery and relief efforts in the local community, where its Freeport, TX site is located. In addition to the direct contribution, BASF will match employee donations up to an additional $50,000, to the United Way of Brazoria County, the Homeland Preparedness Project, or the Salvation Army.
BASF is also working with its key customers to gather much needed items such as diapers and construction materials to assist with recovery efforts.
“The devastating effects of the Texas floods will continue to impact the Brazoria County community for quite some time,” said Chris Witte, BASF Senior Vice President and Freeport Site Manager. “We’ve teamed up with our colleagues, customers and neighbors to bring essential relief to those in need.”
