BASF to increase prices for neopentylglycol in North America

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., December 20, 2016 -- Effective January 15, 2017, or as contracts allow, BASF is increasing its list and off-list prices in North America for all grades of neopentylglycol (NPG) by $0.03/pound. 

NPG, which is marketed by BASF Corporation under the brand name NEOL®, is mainly used as a building block in polyester resins for coatings, unsaturated polyesters, lubricants and plasticizers. With production sites in Freeport, Texas; Ludwigshafen, Germany; and Nanjing and Jilin, China, BASF has a production capacity of 205,000 tons of NPG annually.
