BASF delivers multi-sensory experiences through personal care products at CASCC Suppliers’ Day 2017

When: October 25-26, 2017
Where: Booth #319, Long Beach Convention Center, CA

Background:
BASF is back to sponsor the California Society of Cosmetic Chemists (CASCC) Suppliers’ Day Exhibition 2017, where it will showcase novel formats, food-inspired textures and new ingredients for use in color cosmetics.

Demand for multi-sensory experiences continues as consumers seek products that evoke emotional benefits and elevate their everyday beauty routines. Textures, in particular, are key triggers as they drive the perception of performance and quality. Superfood and food-themed beauty products are also growing in popularity as they stimulate one’s indulgent and playful side while engaging multiple senses.

With these trends in mind, BASF will display reinvented formulations for both hair and skin applications that deliver high marks on both texture and sensory appeal. Under the Colors & Effects brand, BASF has continued its collaboration with the world’s leading color expert – Pantone Color Institute – to develop a color and trend forecast for Fall / Winter 2019 / 2020 themed “Back to the future”. This program highlights industry trends along with inspirations for textures and formulation with BASF’s branded effect pigments for cosmetics. “Back to the future” provides inspiration for the global manufacturers of cosmetic and lifestyle products.

In line with the trends for glittering textures, BASF complements its line for high sparkle products with the introduction of two new effect pigments. Chione® Celestial Rouge is based on synthetic mica and has a unique warm rouge color space metallic effect pigments with superior sparkle characteristics. Reflecks™ Dimensions Brilliant Blue is a frosty blue shade interference effect pigment based on calcium sodium borosilicate with superior sparkle characteristics.
