R&D Engineer, Automotive Coatings Solutions (Totsuka)
Meet Akihiro, working as an R&D engineer in Automotive Coatings Solutions. Akihiro is taking the lead in the development of clearcoats, including resin synthesis, sample preparation and evaluation. His current mission is to develop a new eco-friendly automotive clearcoat for a sustainable future.
Here at BASF, colleagues collaborate to strive for excellence.
"I started my career as an engineer in a painting company, which is also where I last worked. I was in charge of automotive coatings development and sales, and would often visit customers overseas to introduce our products and gather information for potential business. While at a customer visit, BASF’s automotive coatings solutions impressed and attracted me with thier great appearance and excellent properties.
These experiences have reinforced my reasons to joining BASF – the opportunity to learn and work with people from around the world. In addition, BASF offers extensive training programs and encourages employees to attend various seminars both within and outside the company."
"I began my career as an engineer at a paint company where I was in charge of the development and sales of automotive coatings. I would often visit customers overseas to introduce our products and gather information for potential business. Through my work I became familiar with BASF's automotive coatings solutions. Quite simply, their great appearance and superior properties impressed me more than the ones I was selling."
"More than the products, though, was the opportunity to learn and work with dynamic people from around the world. BASF offers extensive training programs and encourages employees to attend various seminars both within and outside the company."
The sky's the limit
"My career is evolving with no limit to opportunities. At BASF, you can plan your career as you wish. As long as you are willing to try, the sky's the limit at a leading global company in the chemical industry. You would be amazed at how broad your career journey could be in BASF."
