BASF South East Asia Pte Ltd and Chemetall Asia Pte Ltd signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with SP Group (Singapore Power), marking the installation of the first solar rooftop panels at two of their production facilities in Singapore. Moving towards increased amounts of renewable energy to power the company’s plants is one of the measures under the company’s phased approach to shaping the green transformation as part of BASF’s new “Winning Ways” strategy.

The American coffee brand Bruvi^® now uses Ultrason^® E 2010 to manufacture the extractor lens in its coffee brewers. The complex injection-molded component is part of Bruvi’s unique auto-optimized brewing technique, scanning the coffee pod and then automatically adjusting the brewing parameters to the specific recipe for the optimal brew of each individual coffee. The BASF polyethersulfone (PESU) contributes to the durability of the machine by its excellent mechanical strength, its high heat and steam resistance up to 180°C, as well as dimensional stability at varying temperatures. The food-contact approved thermoplastic meets Bruvi’s standards for ensuring tastier coffee and hygienic brewing: It does not affect the taste of the coffee or gives off any odors. This allows Ultrason^® E 2010 to outperform other materials which are used in coffee machine applications.

BASF’s Coatings division announces that BMW Group has selected the premium refinish brands Glasurit and R-M among their preferred paint brands for its aftersales network. This strategic partnership includes 50 markets where BMW Group is not present with its private label. (CCAT) to provide its OASE^® blue gas treatment technology for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project at the Taichung Power Plant Carbon Reduction Technology Park, operated by Taiwan Power Company (Taipower), Taiwan’s largest electricity provider.
