Shollay Ramlaul speaks on establishing a business case in slums through a public- private patnership

Africities is an event that brings together local governments as well as global partners to strengthen their role in the continent’s development through a strategic approach, starting at the community level. The 9th Africities Summit was held in Kisumu, Kenya. Shollay Ramlaul, Country Cluster Head - BASF East Africa participated in a panel discussion on establishing a business case in slums through a public private partnership.

 

This session was hosted by UN HABITAT through its Participatory Slum Upgrading Program (PSUP). With the theme ‘Public-Private People Partnerships (PPPP) as vehicles for Private Sector Investment in Informal Settlements,’ Shollay talked about the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and how various companies have come together to develop and deploy solutions to end plastic waste in the environment and enable plastics circularity.
