Moyo Outreach Donation Handover
In the spirit of giving, the BASF East Africa team donated stationery, food items, sporting equipment and solar panels to Moyo Primary School located in the outskirts Namanga town, in Kenya. The community-based school is situated in an environment where basic Human Rights such as Education, Water supply and Power are neglected. The school started off with 14 children and two teachers where learning activities took place under a tree. They had no stationary, no school equipment or resources and no protection from harsh weather and wild animals.
Through the help of Taran Berthelsen, the Head of Maasai school project, the school has been able to put up 3 classrooms that are now used for learning activities.
The BASF team engaged the children with educational games and helped assist in preparing lunch. The Maasai community in Olugului expressed their gratitude to BASF for the contributions made, gifting BASF employees with traditional necklaces symbolizing unity and strength.
At BASF, we continue to be committed to being socially responsible with the aim of creating sustainable development in the communities we live and operate in.
