BASF Agricultural Solutions Senior Leadership Concludes Strategic Visit to Kenya

BASF Agricultural Solutions Senior Vice President for EMEA and CIS Gustavo Palerosi Carneiro and Vice President for EMEA South, Dr. Murat Ayaz, recently completed a productive three-day visit to Kenya, engaging with key stakeholders across the country's agricultural value chain.

Strengthening Industry Partnerships

The leadership team conducted direct interactions with local farmers, distributors, and customers, gaining valuable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities within Kenya's agricultural sector. Strategic meetings with local BASF teams fostered stronger alignment between global strategies and regional implementation.

A key event during the visit was a stakeholder engagement breakfast hosted by the BASF leaders for key players in the agricultural solutions sector. The gathering brought together farmers, product distributors, policymakers, and academic stakeholders to discuss market dynamics and share best practices for empowering farmers across the region.

During these engagements, the leadership team emphasized BASF's long-term commitment to innovation and partnership in agriculture, highlighting ongoing efforts to better understand local challenges, strengthen collaboration, and co-create sustainable solutions for the future of farming in East Africa.

Empowering Women in Agriculture

A highlight of the visit was the executives' tour of the NORT Women in Coffee Initiative, a community project funded by BASF that empowers women coffee farmers through training, resources, and market access support. The leadership team engaged with female coffee farmers, learning about their production methods and discussing how BASF's support has helped improve crop yields and quality.

The NORT Women in Coffee Initiative exemplifies how targeted community support can create transformative impact, demonstrating BASF's commitment to inclusive agricultural development.

The leadership team departed Kenya with strengthened relationships and renewed commitment to supporting East African agriculture, looking forward to continued collaboration in advancing sustainable agricultural practices across the region.
